Treasures – ages 2-3 year olds
Lead Coordinator: Becky Scott
Hello, my name is Becky Scott and I'm now co-leading the Treasures class with Karen Nation. I just wanted to let you know a little bit about me!
My husband is Steve and we have been married for 7 years. We met through youth group at Estacada Christian Church and are high school sweethearts. My two kiddos are Mia (7 months) and Henry (2.5). We started coming to EFBC a little over a year ago. Our heart is to know God in a deeper way and to have God use us to serve others.
Teryn Tatro did such a wonderful job setting up the treasures room and I'm hoping to keep the ball rolling in the new facility. The 2's and 3's are a very fun yet challenging age group. When we first started coming to EFBC Henry would not go to class during church. One time I will never forget setting him down in the class and peeling myself away, only to look back over my shoulder to see him running full speed screaming while totally flattening the child safety gate to get back to me. Toddlers are passionate little people!
It took a few months I think to get Henry through a whole service and we tried just about everything. I know how it feels to be a parent who just needs to spend some quiet time worshipping, praying and reflecting....not worrying about if your little one is going to make it through the service. It's such a comfort knowing that Henry is not only being fed yummy goldfish snacks to keep him happy on Sunday mornings, but that he is also being fed the spiritual truths of our faith. It's a win-win for the whole family!
Karen and I are here for you, to help in whatever way we can to make your little person's time in Treasures happy and fun! If you have any questions of us, suggestions or new ideas, please email, call, text or grab us on Sunday morning. Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks for your time!
Treasures Co-Coordinator:Karen Nation
I have been married to the love of my life, Aaran, for 5 wonderful years. We have a beautiful daughter, Ellie, and another bundle of joy joining our family in May.
Ever since I can remember I have wanted to work with children. I have been involved in children’s ministries from a young age, worked many summers at Trout Creek Bible Camp as “Bashful” and have taught at River Mill as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. Currently, I love being a stay at home mom. My passion is sharing God’s love, especially to this age group as they make connections in their own little world. This is an exciting time to be a part of God’s preparation in the lives of these precious children, and I look forward to sharing it with all of you! I am excited to embark on this journey with Becky as we team up leading Treasures.

Crusaders Ages 1st - 5th Grade Coordinator: Melinda Walter
The next several weeks we will be learning “The Lords Prayer” - What is prayer? Is it a magic wand we wave in front of God to get him to turn events and situations to our advantage? Is it simply a conversation? Is it worship? Is it for adults or children or both? Why, when, and how should we talk to God? Jesus gave a guide to help answer these questions in Matthew 6, what we now call the Lord’s Prayer we will explore the concepts such as the holiness of God, God’s provision, the importance of forgiving as well as being forgiven, and so on. This study helps us dig deeper into the concepts behind the Lord’s Prayer. It helps children not only learn the words to this prayer, but what those words mean and how they apply to the lives of children today. Through these lessons the Crusaders will discover that prayer is more than recitation or a wish list. It’s part of a vital relationship with God. What a joy to be part of the journey!

: Postcard Scripture
Our Kingdom Crusader Children ages 1st - 5th grade is participating in a wonderful Postcard Scripture program. Our Children will get to see and hear from people all over the world in Christ. This is a simple exercise for you to participate in. Our children will be having a fun contest to see how many post cards arrive (who can guess the amount) as well as a contest for the Postcard from the furthest place on the map! Please ask your friends and family via email to help us by sending in a postcard with a favorite Bible Scripture written on it. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ. Please write us your favorite Bible Scripture in whatever language you speak and don’t forget to say where you are from!
