EFBC Children’s Ministry Letter - July 2010
Dear Parents and Families,
There is a saying that if it were not for the weather, 60% of the population wouldn’t know how to start a conversation. Wow, I can so hold my own without needing a weather advisory yet; I am just so perplexed by this silly weather system. We have had 65 and raining one day, then 85 and humid the next. I don’t know about you, but I am feeling a little crazy by what it going on outside my door. I think my garden is a bit confused as well. At least we know that God is constant. I hope this summer finds you and your family able to get away and enjoy the bit of sun we have had. It’s time to break out the sprinkler and the beach towels.
WEE ONES / NURSERY – Ages: 0-2½
What a joy a few toys can make. We have been blessed by families that have donated toys to the Nursery! Our little guys love the new building blocks and fun farm toys! Not to mention the teething toys and the little buzzes and whistles that some of the new toys make. Ahh the Lil ones, we have 15 babies with more on the way in just a few short months! We need more hands on deck. Please pray about possibly helping in the nursery. You will need to fill out a volunteer application. Soon we will be splitting the Nursery into two areas: one room for Toddlers and one room for Babies. We will need helpers in both areas and would love to have some people for back up in these new rooms.
KID’S CLUB - Ages: 2½ – Kindergarten
We want to shout out a big welcome to our Interim Kid’s Club Coordinator: TERYN Yaaa hooo!!! Teryn has been Team Teaching in Kid’s Club with Shawna for about 6 months now. Teryn and husband Daniel are the parents of Lexi, Caden, and Chase. Teryn has come aboard to Kid’s Club as an Interim Coordinator during the time Beverly will be taking time off to have her baby in late September. Take a moment to get to know Teryn; I know you’ll find her a great fit on our team, as well as an amazing woman of God.
The Kid’s Club group has also had some fun with their New Donated Toys these last couple of weeks! We have a new toy car garage, wood blocks, dump truck, emergency truck, new Kitchen food, and a doll. Our Coordinator, Beverly was even able to find a couple play area stations on craigslist; so we now have a tool station, a baby station, and a new play kitchen!! Some of the toys the children have been using are literally from the 70’s. It has been wonderful to have the kids really enjoy the new things. If you would like to donate toys to the classroom that are new or gently used, let us know! Soon we will have a couple more tables as well. It is a delight to see the children playing with safe, new toys!
CRUSADERS – Ages: 1st-5th grade
We have a great need for a few more volunteer Helpers and Teachers in the Crusader’s classroom. Because we currently only 3 Teaching Teams, we can only offer classes twice a month to the 1st through 5th grade children. If you have ever considered helping, now is the time. You would be on a rotation every 5 weeks and we could again offer weekly classes to our Crusader Kids. Volunteer applications are located at the Sign-in Table, along with policy and procedure information. We would love to talk with you and pray about your possible involvement.
Thank you for the privilege of teaching your children,
