Good evening....
Let's start with a probing question....
"What would your church (and the worldwide church) look like if everyone was committed as you are?
If everyone gave, and served and prayed exactly like you.
Would the church be healthy and empowered ? Or would it be weak and listless" Francis Chan
That quote prompted more personal questions for me....can I share them???
I want our church to be exciting, impacting, inviting, powerful and so on, yet why would our church be that way if I am not that way? Do I expect others to make our church a certain way and just go along for the ride? Do I expect more from others than I am willing to put into it myself? Do I expect others to carry the financial load while I just enjoy the blessing of their commitment? Do I expect others to do many jobs when I don't do mine?
And then I thought of this statement in the Bible..... From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Eph 4:16 It strikes me that this verse starts with "HIM" and ends with "EACH PART". "Each Part" is important....I am important....you are important. We are all important because of HIM and how He wants us to move through us. I trust we will each be excited about the part Jesus places us in then in obedience allow Him to work through us.
I am looking forward to all of the "parts" coming together tomorrow and seeing what Jesus does in and through us.
